Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the hotel opposite Fredrikstad Cathedral, I found a balanced blend of comfort and simplicity. The location is quite central, making it easy to explore the charming surroundings, although the cathedral was only open for a couple of hours, so we could only enjoy the view from our room. The room itself was compact; while essentials were covered, space was limited, making it tricky to unpack entirely. The comfortable bed provided a welcome retreat after a day of exploration. The housekeeping was satisfactory, maintaining cleanliness. A highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet, which featured fresh options. There's a cozy bar/lounge area that was perfect for relaxing with a drink in the evenings. Ultimately, for the price, the hotel delivers decent value amidst Fredrikstad's charm. It's not a luxury haven, but it offers a comfortable base for travelers prioritizing location and service. Just be aware of the little quirks, and you might find it worthwhile.
